Could this website be better if you incorporated information from both Wikipedia and Wikitravel? Their text is free to copy from.

Then this website's coverage of China travel topics would be the best.

Maybe you can use a internet bot /program / automated script to do this?

Hi, 45nikd. I appreciate your suggestion. Maybe we should look into this. But our original idea was to provide unbiased and independent info from real travelers, not just a mere copy of guides from existing free materials. Of course, situations change all the time. Thanks for your reply. It seems to me that there are not many articles here and those that do exist are quite bare. Of course, i understand that you may not want this site to be considered as a mere mirror site of wikipedia/wikitravel but it looks like the progress here is painfully slow. As far I can tell there is only one regular editor Special:Recentchanges, User Hzhao. Even if you have 100 or 1,000 editors who are as active as this guy it would still take an extremely long time to be comprehensive. Maybe another plan is needed. Thanks for your time writing up your suggestions. I understand your point. One of my concerns is that once we take that route, it will be irreversible, and we will maybe forever be labeled as a copycat of wikipedia/wikitravel. So we've made a long-term decision in the very beginning to be independent. You're right, the site's ultimate goal is to have a comprehensive China travel guide, but it will need time to get there. The site is not just to read, it's also for writing as a wiki (admittedly a lot more readers than writers). Again, that's just my idea. Hi again. I would like to ask as I am not a Chinese speaker if there exists other travel wiki sites in Chinese language. Maybe you can collaborate with already established travel sites and convert their content to a wiki format? Regards, 45nikd 20:32, 13 November 2008 (PST)
